Funeral Catering by Room Forty
Losing someone you love is possibly hardest time of your life, and it's also a time where there are also so many decisions to make, and might never have used the company before. At Room Forty our aim is to try and reduce your stress and make your refreshments a celebration of life, filled with love and made with love.
Every morsel is made just for you to your tastes and requirements - we'll even make their favourite cake or pie and really personalise the experience.
Your guests can either enjoy a full sit down afternoon tea, or we can serve buffet style, which can be better if you are not sure on numbers.
Before the day
We help you with everything. Working out how many people might need catering, advising on a suitable venue, asking for special dietary needs, helping you to plan the most special of farewells and arranging access to the venue, or your home.
On the day
We do everything whilst you and your guests are paying your respects, so that you can spend time with your family and your thoughts, and not be looking after other people.
We turn up at the arranged time, bring the tablecloths, beautiful vintage crockery, and all the food and staffing, and set up quietly.
We can stay, serve your guests, and afterwards we wash up and close the door on a clean kitchen after us.
Menu options
If you don't want the afternoon tea or high tea menu we can make a buffet to suit your guests, with home made cakes, sandwiches and refreshments to tempt the appetite.
We have options that others have done that may inspire you, starting at just £3.50 per person for a home made scone with jam and clotted cream, it is a lovely addition to any buffet you may order elsewhere.
Whatever you decide it will be done with style, quality and a layer of love that you simply don't get anywhere else.

We hired Room Forty to provide a buffet following our mother's funeral. The service was fantastic and the food was just right. It was the little things, the attention to detail. Room Forty provided excellent service, crockery and linens and the sandwiches cakes and scones were all lovely. A special mention for the sausage rolls, tea loaf and not too sweet chocolate cakes. Guests were very complimentary about everything and the best thing is I know dad would have loved it all.
