Traditional Vintage Afternoon Tea and High Tea
A Room Forty afternoon tea is designed to surprise and delight you, and with our award winning hospitality we know you'll be thrilled with what we offer. We travel from Warrington to Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester and Lancashire with everything we need to transform your home, community venue or business into a pretty vintage tea room.
We cater for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, children's parties, final farewells and corporate entertainment. There is no event that isn't enhanced by a cup of tea in my opinion!
Having the afternoon tea brought to you means that your guests don't need to rush off - and you can have a much more relaxed time than in a restaurant, and keep your table for more than 2 hours!
Guests with special requirements
Guests who have particularly commented on the benefits of our unique service are those with dietary requirements, people with a mix of guests with a wide range of ages - young children who don't want to sit still for long, or less mobile family members who find it difficult to travel into the city for special occasions.
Room Forty Catering
Every afternoon tea at Room Forty is home made, with love. We dont do big cakes, we lots of individual cakes and keep it interesting with a range of textures and natural flavours. We bake individual patisserie without the ultra processed additives, preservatives and colourings.
Room Forty Vintage Crockery Hire
Our vintage crockery hire is part of your package, and includes everything you need to hold the perfect afternoon tea. Some of our pieces are around 90 years old. We always give every person a MATCHING cup, saucer and plate so that it looks welcoming and professional. If of course, you want a mismatched look this can be arranged! Room dressing
We bring everything to you, and set up your room, transforming it from a dining room or board room into a vintage style tea room. with vintage linens, candelabra, jam jar flowers and more available. We even have over 80 Babycham glasses to hire. If you want everyone seated that's great - but if room is limited we can serve buffet style too. We can chat about these options when you make your enquiry.
Pouring Your Refreshments
When your guests arrive we will happily serve your cold drinks or prosecco. We dont charge corkage!
Waitress Service
Service is optional, we can just drop everything off to you, or stay and set up and then leave, it can also be buffet style too. Just have a think about what you prefer, we can chat through the options.
However at Room Forty, we pride ourselves on our award winning hospitality. We want you to feel like a guest at your own party, rather than a host who has to attend to your guests.
We'll keep the tea coming while you eat, and, if you have booked entertainment we'll manage that for you too, so you can focus on your guests and enjoy the party too.
We'll then stay with you and wash up, giving your guests plenty of time to enjoy the ambiance, the linens and the bubbly (not supplied).

We know that so many of you are happy to just have the food delivered, and we're happy to deliver in individual boxes, or packed up ready for you to put out on your own crockery for your guests. It is always a winner and our customers return time and time again, knowing what they get is great value and super fresh. Plus the cakes are different each time.

"Booked Jen and her team to cater for my son's Baptism and all I can say is WOW! The sandwiches and cakes were all freshly made and Jen even added a taste of lemon as it is a personal favourite of mine! During the service, the team decorate the room so all guests entered a really welcoming vintage experience. The music added that authentic touch and really created a superb atmosphere! The tea was delicious and absolutely nothing was too much trouble for this fantastic team! I cannot recommend Room Forty enough for any size party, if you want something different and of a very high quality. Thank you for making an already specially day pretty much perfect! Much love xxxx"

The service was great, I'm normally uncomfortable having people serve me but Jen did this perfectly. She was there if you needed but you didn't feel uncomfortable in her presence. "My son surprised me for my birthday with one of your afternoon teas in a box for my husband and I, I just wanted to let you know how perfect it was! It was lovely and fresh, the salad was nice and crisp, it was really well presented in the box, but most of all the cakes were amazing! It was absolutely delicious! I even set it up in the garden with a glass of prosecco, it was my birthday after all!

- Savouries, eg home made sausage roll with red onion chutney, cheese and onion savoury pastry or vegan palmiers with sun-dried tomatoes(High Tea)
- Freshly baked scone with jam and clotted cream
- 3 small patiesserie/ cakes per person, again all handmade in our 5 star rated kitchen
- Loose leaf teas, and quality coffee
