Learn to make bread with Room Forty 

Learning to bake bread is on the bucket list of almost everyone we come across, so you will be pleased to know that our classes for individuals, families or corporate groups  make it fun and enjoyable to learn. We have several classes to choose from, depending on your skill level and we can build a bespoke class for you. Whilst we recommend you start at the beginners class and develop from there, it isn't unheard of for someone to start on Italian Breads and then do the beginners, and they have just as much success. 

​We use several venues to hold our classes including Lymm Parish Hall, Kingsley Community Centre, Weaverham Sea Scouts hut, Grappenhall Heyes Walled Garden, and The Hilltop at Mossley Hill Church, Liverpool but can also run this half day course in your own home or workplace, ask for details

 We do many different classes and can design one to suit you perfectly. We'll find the venue, or come to your house.  Courses include all ingredients, food and drink, all learning materials and after course support.

​Baking for beginners £55 
Learn the basics of bread making in our fun, hands on class. Suitable for ages 12 upwards our students will learn the fundamentals of bread. You will be hand on making two types of bread (including our World Bread Award winning white delight) to take home, and enjoying a demonstration of wholemeal bread and pizza  with fresh slices for everyone.

Whilst no experience is necessary, this very popular class moves you on from the very basics and introduces new techniques and expands your knowledge of the art of dough!  The breads are all delicious and are packed with flavour, and of course you will take them home at the end of the class. 

You’ll learn to make a delicious rosemary infused focaccia free form, a tinned cheese and walnut pane which is delicious fresh, but made extra special a few days later when you toast it!   Guests will also enjoy a Room Forty scone demonstration, which we'll eat in our break time with a cup of tea.

Cinnamon Whirls, Muffins and Crumpets 'Breakfast Breads'  £65

Join us as we make Cinnamon whirls, muffins and demo our delicious crumpets, which we will of course enjoy during the class! 
It is totally social distanced and hands on. 

You will learn to make (and take home)

This fun and tasty class will move you on from the very basics and introduce new techniques (though you can do it without previous experience as we'll help you along)

The breads are all delicious and are packed with flavour, and of course you will take them home at the end of the class - PLEASE BRING A BOX

We'll enjoy the crumpets during the class along with lots of tea and coffee. 
Room Forty provide everything, just bring yourself and have a great baking session with us.

Tiger Bread and Sticky Buns £65

This super indulgent class is a real winner and quite messy, with different kneading techniques taught for enriched doughs.  

We'll take you through the steps needed to make beautiful crusty tiger bread, followed by deliciously decadent iced buns. Fun guaranteed! 


Christmas bake class! £65

All ingredients are included in the class and we'll be making other festive treats you can wrap with a pretty bow to give as thoughtful Christmas gifts (or keep them all to yourself!)

This year we're making our festive bread class a little bit sweeter and making a delicious fruit bread with almond marzipan called Stollen - description below, courtesy of Wiki.
Stollen is a fruit bread of nuts, spices, and dried or candied fruit, coated with powdered sugar or icing sugar and often containing marzipan. It is a traditional German bread eaten during the Christmas season, when it is called Weihnachtsstollen or Christstollen.

"The last group baking lesson I had was at school 30 years ago so I wasn’t quite sure what the workshop would be like when I booked it as my husband’s birthday present. It turned out to be a great evening with a lovely group of people (thank you to Anna, Jack, Judith, Clare and George for being great fellow bakers). 
We’ve been inspired to try out some new recipes instead of sticking to our old favourites and we came away with some delicious bread and sticky buns. John has already been asking what other workshops you do so I suspect we will be baking with you again before too long!"

Kids Baking Classes - on request
If you'd like a private party for children or adults please get in touch. We'll make pizza, biscuits and have a great time. Plus your children will be fed as part of the party!  What's not to love. 

"We have had the BEST time today in Jen's childrens' baking class. I took 2 of my grandchildren, Bobby & Sofia, and they LOVED it. Jen was so patient with the children and delivered a great lesson in scone making ..... so good even I'm going to have a go (anyone who knows me will understand that this is massive for me!!!)
